Light of My Eye

Light of my eye,
love of my life.

Windmills

He filled his mug to go,
just like he always did,
His daughter said please don't go,
you know I'll be alone here sick.
"I've got to go to work in the city,
in the tower's where I'll stay."
"But Daddy bad things are coming,
a dream said you should stay,
in a big airplane they're coming,
there's no more you should have to pay."

Stay close to me today,
They've taken all they can from you,
Step out of the arrow's way,
There's no more price to pay.
We live to work and play,
No need to shove around,
We're put in the bullet's way,
We can say no to that today.

He kissed his wife to go,
his business to attend,
"Darling please don't go now,
you know the strike is imminent."
"God willing, we're safe now,
just pray for me to the west."
"But baby bad things are coming,
don't put Allah to the test,
in a big warplane they're coming,
you've only worked to earn the best."

Stay close to me today,
They've taken all they can from you,
Step out of the arrow's way,
There's no more price to pay.
We live to work and play,
No need to shove around,
We're put in the bullet's way,
We can say no to that today.

Stay close to me today,
Don't go chasing windmills,
Stop running, listen, and sit still,
Close your eyes to these words.

He locked and loaded his M-4,
just like he did each day.
Two tours and he'd be home,
but now they want to make him stay.
The next great crusade
has been put upon his plate.

It's our chance to get it right,
when people of the world unite.

Generation Rx

Get up out your houses,
Rise up out exclusive communities,
A new gospel's a brewing,
An upsurge in this new positivity.

We can reach farther now,
than we ever could before.
What the ancients set in stone,
now, we're ready to hold more.

Lay low for a minute,
To dive beneath
a swirling sea of negativity,
The day your love goes slippin,
You start to lose touch
of all trace of feeling.

But coldness in the air's,
just another dead end like before.
We're ready to surrender, and now,
we're ready to love more.
to take it back to the source...

Throw out your sedations,
Know no limits.

If we can see into each other,
when the fabric comes undone,
some say the end is near,
but I think we've only just begun.

Cycles

She holds the key to her own prison cell,
Scared of the light, warms her hands on hell,
She watches life, through a glass cage,
Can't break her free, I fall into dismay.

She lives her life, in a memory,
Hiding from light, radiant beauty,
Semi-comatose, and still reaching out to me,
And I want to dive in her deep mystery.

And I would love to see you,
dancing free from all tempting confusion,
Lifted from the shadows,
of gravity from some mass delusion.

Dare not to be, a mirror for what you see,
what you read, are sold and hear,
free from shelter from what you fear.
But nothing else I do could set us free.

Waiting for Eclipse

A burning ball of radiance,
formed out of the dark void's
benign violence.
He don't know why time keeps going on,
and what would his glory be
without for the ones he shines upon.

He don't know why,
he burns so bright.

She wanders aimless through the night,
opens herself to reflect a distant light.
She does not understand her course,
she illuminates but doesn't know its source.

She don't know why,
she glows so bright.

But still he hangs there in the sky,
waiting for some celestial body
to pass him by.
Don't know where his better half roams,
has she found some distant star
to call her home?

He don't know why,
time passes by.

But still they glimpse each other,
every once in a while.
Those who seek their glory,
see them in their crimson light.
But they don't sense each other,
at least not at the same time,
we put them together,
like stanzas of a rhyme.
They radiate together,
for those they do not see,
they radiate forever,
across the darkened sea.

Propelled through space by unseen force,
nature's destiny completes its course.
When two celestial bodies meet,
and only in one is the other complete.

They now know why,
they float through time.

And to our eyes we see eclipse,
perhaps a new start
or perhaps an apocalypse.
But for right now all that we know,
is two lost lonely lovers
bask in each other's glow.

Beautiful World

Oh Lord don't take this world now,
the one that I can't let go.
There's got to be a way somehow,
some path that we just don't know.
An exit from this three
dimensional prison cell,
reflecting all our greed,
our fears, insecurities,
our passions for the things we see.
The things we imagine get lost
in the white noise of uncertainty.

The road that we cannot see,
just doesn't feel like the end.

Oh Lord don't take our light now,
I want to see night turn to day.
Lord let me watch the sundown,
and feel it won't stay that way.
We watch the deep red glow
cover all in sight,
and hand in hand we hold
each other into the night,
don't vanish, just hold on tight,
don't close your eyes
to this beautiful world,
just keep on breathing.

We stare at the dying sun,
while our hearts pound on in unison.
We keep on dreaming,
and just might find in our end
a new beginning.

We stumble round and round,
get lost and then grow old.
But one day we'll be found,
as part of a beautiful world.

Imbalance

Within our city
there lies a state,
where the sons of the emperors
mingle and play,
They place all faith
in what glimmers and shines,
with the city held at the perimeter.
Outside the invisible marbled fence,
the social trash sleeps on the pavement,
The sidewalk gypsies sing their song,
the royal children won't play along.

Imbalance breeds ignorance,
all wars are the consequence,
the conflict tends to stratify,
hierarchy breeds violence.

Within our village
there is an estate,
where the gold-robed children
are taught to take,
Devaluation of the virtue to share,
is achieved through over-consumption.
Though try as we can we cannot maintain,
the cost of upholding an empire's reign,
Imbalance will cause
a structure to fall,
when the weight on top
is holding it all,
imbalance will cause
a system to fall,
when those at the top
keep taking it all.

Imbalance breeds ignorance,
all wars are the consequence,
the conflict tends to stratify,
hierarchy breeds violence.

Mara's Bonds

Excruciating curves,
writhing like the rays of sun
on the skin dance,
To the motion of the stars,
embedded in her eyes leaving me in trance.
Moans with the voice of the swan,
crooning, singing
the sweetest songs ever heard.

I don't even know your name,
Somehow it makes it even better that way,
Can't think that here lies a human face,
Under me, this goddess from beyond,

this world of limits,
that I feel fading,
with every whisper in the dark.

Gaze, intoxicating me,
bold sensation from the kindest buds,
Hair, flowing spirit of wild youth,
winding like the embrace of the
snake around its mate,
Floats on columns made of bronze,
commanding tribute
in a necklace made of pearls.

I don't even know your name,
Somehow it makes it even better that way,
Can't think that here lies a human face,
Under me, this goddess from beyond,

this world of limits,
that I feel fading, sublimating,
consecrating, facilitating,
a moment's passing,
through the illusion of this world.

Conquistador

He's searching for something,
something he can't describe.
He's searching for something,
the one thing that's gone from down inside.
He's coming to conquer,
past, present, future, space, and time.
He's bringing the fire,
he's setting flames and then breathing life.

We're searching for something,
something beyond the air.
We're searching for nothing,
nothing that isn't already there.
We command and conquer,
we take in all that we survey.
We're feeding the hunger,
we'll follow that master to the grave.

He's coming on a cloud of fire,
he's come to deliver the sword,
to fuel the kennel of creation,
the eternal flame that burns up more, more,
to the source.

Conquistador, he's searching for something,
are we searching for nothing?
Conquistador, we're searching for nothing,
nothing that isn't already there.

Quetzalcoatal

Time again to change gears,
on this long highway.
Roll the windows down,
and watch night turn to day.

Loosen the seatbelt...
Feel all time melt...
And watch all horizons merge
to where we can start.

Stoic, cosmic bird,
with wings of flames,
soars above the herd,
riding solar waves,
some call him the phoenix,
others quetzalcoatal,
some say the redeemer,
some say nothing at all.

Life reborn,
flows out like the headstrong tide,
till crested waves of joy
crash down on every living thing on earth.

When all we see, is all that is,
and we'll mold it like clay.

A man keeps climbing upwards,
swollen, bruised, he don't know
what he's climbing for.
He's come to think he's seen the end,
reaches the peak, the sun breaks in,

He ascends, arms out, screaming,
"Shine on me! Shine on me!"

Stoic, cosmic bird,
with wings of flames,
soars above the herd,
riding solar waves,
some call him the phoenix,
others quetzalcoatal,
some say the redeemer,
some say nothing at all.

The path he's in,
has no start and no end,
it just burns and spirals on
to where he can again begin.

When all our dreams, and all our minds,
are in its waking state,
come wake me from my spirit slumber,
and open me to reflect your light.

Shine on me.
Shine on me.
